So apparently Beer has plenty of Health Benefits.  I’ve been telling people this for years.  When drunk in ‘moderation‘, beer can have health benefits ranging from boosting brain activity to limiting arthritis risk. I spotted this over on Revivol (they make hangover type tablets, Lifeline types stuff). It’s an infographic which lists a few of the benefits. Worth a look, even if it’s just to shut up those who blabber on about Alcohol being bad bah humbug

Pub Love: Kehoes

 

One of my all time favourite pubs in Dublin City centre is on South Anne Street. Kehoes was first licensed in 1803, which makes it one hell of long-standing watering hole.  For me its charm is in its complete lack of modernity.  You won’t find sleek counter tops, gastro this and gastro that, or a hostess with a clipboard in this bar. O’Hara’s Sorachi Ace 

 

Some information for the craft beer drinkers out there. O’Hara’s  (Carlow Brewing) have added the Sorachi Ace to their line up.  A single hop IPA, which is available to try this weekend at both Cat Laughs and the craft beer tent at Bloom.

It’s the first of the ‘Hop Adventure Series’, which is showcasing  hops from around the world, with Japan as the first. The Sorachi Ace hop has origins in Hokkaido Japan.
