I’ve never seen Despicable Me 1 or 2 so I was happy to see Minions can be viewed as a standalone movie. The movie starts by filling in their back story and we meet the characters Kevin, Bob and Stuart, who lead the Minions on their quest to find a new leader. They  are fiercely entertaining and never before have single-celled yellow organisms been so 3 Dimensional. Forget everything you think you know about Sherlock Holmes. Forget Baker Street, forget the deerstalker hat, forget the pipe and forget the action packed sleuth brought to a new generation by Guy Ritchie.  Director Bill Condon (Gods and Monsters) gives you a Sherlock Holmes that is fragile, short-tempered and losing his intellectual prowess.  Based on the novel A Slight Trick of the Mind by Mitch Cullin, aging and looking back are very much the prominent themes in Mr. Holmes. Bigger, bolder, better.  Pitch Perfect 2 puts a whole lot more Ahhhhhhhhhhh in acapella.  It’s Acca Amazing. The Barden Bella’s have risen to new heights, literally, from the very start of the movie.
