While there are some great Irish male fashion bloggers out there like David Cashman and Damien Broderick every so often I dip my toe into the world of menswear. There are a lot of really great Irish brands and I’m all for supporting our own. I was invited along to check out the new AW16 range from Magee, a Donegal based brand which has a long and illustrious heritage.
I happened to be in the store a few weeks back for some wedding shopping (not mine) and was bowled over by what was on offer, as well as some excellent customer service. So when the invite hit my inbox I was more than happy to head along and lend my support.
The brand was celebrating not only their latest range but 150 years of business. To herald in the milestone they have also created a capsule collection, aptly named The 150th Collection. We were treated to a morning of Breakfast at Magee and over coffee and pastries the Magee team gave us a run down of the brand, its value, the story behind it and of course a guided tour of some of the new AW16 menswear range.
They have quite a range of pieces to suit all tastes and of course all price points. They are all about quality, craftsmanship and staying true to their heritage with the fabrics designed and woven in Donegal. I’d certainly recommend popping into the flagship store on South Anne Street to check out what is on offer.
They also have a womenswear collection and I bumped into the lovely Nirina from Killer Fashion who has a lovely piece on her site about it. She is also that stunning looking lady in the black and white photo below. That tall handsome fella beside the marginally shorter (ok not so marginal) one is roving reporter Ed Smith from Suburbia Online who was also checking out the new range.
