I recently had the pleasure of attending the Primark/Penney’s AW 15 press day at the their head offices on Parnell Street. I was going along with a friend of mine Ruby Laine who is a fashion and beauty blogger. I’d never been to a fashion press day so had no idea what to expect.
Imagine my eyes bulging through their sockets when the first thing I seen was not clothes, but food, glorious food. The folks over at Penney’s sure know how to entertain. Before we even got to see the clothes we were treated to a whole range of wonderfully tasty canapés and drinks from the ‘hydration bar’ (very posh). Check out the incredible array of food and drink below.

There was a constant stream of male and female fashionistas in and out along with some well known Irish TV presenters, like the lovely Sean Munsanje who myself and Ruby were chatting to. They also had a great DJ playing for the afternoon and the vibe was very much ‘stay a while, relax, eat, drink, check out the clothes, there’s no hurry’.
I made sure to check out the men’s section to see what was on offer. I was very impressed with the quality and pricing of what I seen. It seems Penney’s are still offering outstanding prices but upping the quality. For the men’s wear they have two capsule collections ‘British Wool’ and ‘Irish Molloy & Sons Donegal Tweed’, where they have used local mills in Yorkshire and Donegal. The suits will be available in limited quantities in the larger stores.

If we weren’t spoilt enough with food, drink, music and a sneak peek at what’s coming up in AW 15, Penney’s also gave us free reign over their ‘Primarket’ where we got to fill a bag with all sorts of wonderful take home gifts, including jars of sweets. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable visit to my first press day. So big thanks to Penney’s for having me.
