Priced at €9.99 its an affordable Sauvignon Blanc that is unlikely to offend even the snootiest of wine lovers. A pale lemon to straw colour the wine is perfectly fresh and crisp. Its high in acidity and gives you that mouth-watering feel that leads immediately to topping up the glass.
The accompany notes declare Elderflower, I however did not manage to pick it out in either taste or smell. What I did get, as is common with Sauvignon is green fruit like apple and gooseberry. Also hints of grass and grapefruit. Its long finish was pleasant and enticing and overall it’s a very enjoyable wine.
I rarely forward plan enough to think about what food I will pair my wine with. To be honest, on many occasions I pair it with a large bag of crisps (I suspect I’m not the only one) and just sit back and relax. This one would however go nicely with some fish dishes and soft cheese.
