The Powers Whiskey Pop-up shop is tucked away in a luxurious back room of L. Mulligan’s Whiskey shop on Clarendon Street and is open until Christmas Eve. I was a recent guest and am happy to tell you, not only can you buy your favourite bottle of Powers Whiskey, you can also have it engraved for just €15.The Powers Whiskey brand ambassador Michael Carr is usually in store on Thursday and Friday afternoons to guide you through the various Powers Whiskey’s in stock and perhaps even a little taster if you are lucky. Stock in the pop up includes the Gold Label as well as the Three Swallows release blue label and the Powers Signature release green label.
I was part of a lucky group who got to attend a fantastic Powers Whiskey masterclass recently. Our L.Mulligans host for the night was a Whiskey Oracle who took us through a tasting for four Powers Whiskey’s. Each was accompanied by an engaging tale of Whiskey which our eager group lapped up.
Our personalised guest tour included the wonderful gift of a bottle of Powers Gold Label with our names engraved on the bottles. The service is available in store (when you purchase a bottle of Powers Whiskey) between now and Christmas Eve and cost just €15 for your choice of name and comes with two Whiskey tumblers. When you visit, don’t forget to ask about their own personal Powers Whiskey Single Cask Release which even depicts their L. Mulligan Grocer pub images on the front.
If you can’t make it to L. Mulligan’s Whiskey shop, don’t worry, the team over at Supervalu can also help you out. Powers Whiskey have also released a new line of limited edition Powers Single Cask Releases. This expression of whiskey is unique to the Irish market and bears a 15 year-old age statement with hallmark spicy flavours, these two Single Cask Releases are complemented by the velvety mouthfeel which characterises great Pot Still whiskey. The Supervalu Irish Whiskeys range includes two specific cask numbers and retail at €200 at selected stores.
