I’ve never seen Despicable Me 1 or 2 so I was happy to see Minions can be viewed as a standalone movie. The movie starts by filling in their back story and we meet the characters Kevin, Bob and Stuart, who lead the Minions on their quest to find a new leader. They  are fiercely entertaining and never before have single-celled yellow organisms been so 3 Dimensional.
