Bloom 2016 – A Snapshot of The Show Gardens

The Phoenix Park is once again home to Bloom which is now in its tenth year having launched backed in 2007.  It’s running all weekend until 6pm on Monday June 6th and you can get tickets here. I took a visit to check out the show gardens which are more than a little impressive.  Have a look below to see the incredible array of styles and structures including two forthcoming blockbuster movie inspired gardens from Universal Studios and Warner Bros. The Coburg Brasserie -A Divine Dining Experience

Back in 1817 the Iveagh Gardens were known as the Coburg Gardens. Two hundred years later the name has returned as the revamped brasserie The Coburg in the Conrad hotel. An intimate group of us were invited along for a ‘taste of The Coburg’ evening which was a tailored food and drink led experience. All dishes are however available on the menu. Continue reading

Madrid Half Marathon 2016 – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Series

After the disaster that was the Wexford Half Marathon a week earlier, I was more than a little anxious boarding my plane to Madrid to run the Rock’n’Roll half.  I had a week to rest my legs and more importantly to get my head back in the game. In my opinion if you are not prepared mentally then you are wasting your time showing up in the first place. Continue reading

Wrights Findlater – A Seafood Lunch in Howth

**I was dining as a guest of the marketing team behind the Wrights Group. What follows like any other dining experience, is fair and reflective of the visit**

I was invited for lunch in Howth and meeting Mr. Always Late (Mal) in Wrights Findlater at one o’clock. I got to Howth an hour early and went for a wander around the harbour and the little market a couple of doors up from Findlater’s. Naturally left alone in a market I spent €10 on beef jerky (apparently its a good protein source) and €5 on two cupcakes which I ate straight away.  Had I not looked at my watch and realised it was 12.55 I would have also bought the caramel popcorn and Belgian waffles I passed and the antique bathroom sign which said leithris on it. Rough Running at Wexford Half Marathon 2016

It was sheer frustration. Having gotten out of bed at six that morning to drive to Wexford I was more than a little disappointed with how my run went. I actually felt like I was going to cry. Continue reading

5 Wines To Try From The Aldi Summer Range

*note this is not a sponsored post nor was I encouraged to write it*

I popped along to the Aldi Summer Wine Tasting this week to see what was on offer.  Personally I’m more a fan of white wine and of course anything with bubbles.  There was a mix of seasonal (Summer) and core collection to try out. Given that our ‘Summer’ seems to finally be here I’ve a few recommendations from each range below. Continue reading

Bad Neighbours 2 – Movie Review

Is Neighbours 2 hot property or just another house on the block? Lets see

Personally I didn’t really like the first Bad Neighbours.  It was more hype over substance and the laughs were minimal. With that in mind I went into Bad Neighbours 2 with very low expectations. Two minutes in and I was chuckling away to myself.  Its better than its predecessor I’m happy to report. Continue reading

Coppinger Row  – Dinner With The AAFoodies

For my second food and drink led experience with #AA Foodies I found myself gathered in great company at the bar in Coppinger Row. The restaurant has been awarded two AA Rosettes and we were being treated to a journey in gin and an adventure in food. Continue reading
