Max – Movie Review

So who doesn’t love a movie about a lovable dog who saves the day.  We have had Lassie, Benji and the Littlest Hobo and loved them all.  Now mans best friend has been given military training, a slightly edgy temperament and he is called Max. Continue reading

The Vintage Kitchen – You Will Not Find Better

There is a very dull looking building on the corner of Tara Street and Poolbeg Street called Apollo House.  I spent the last three years working there.  It’s all bit dreary and dated and gloomy.  The saving grace of having worked there, two things: Continue reading

Abbey Theatre – Backstage Tour

I never knew, but the Abbey Theatre do a really interesting backstage tour. What’s even better is, it’s an absolute bargain at only €8 for about an hour of theatrical history. As part of a birthday treat a friend had organised for us to go on the tour. Continue reading

Hot Pursuit – Movie Review

I wanted to like this. I wanted to laugh lots and I wanted to rave about it to other people and say things like ‘the funniest bit was when’; but I can’t say that. I didn’t like it, I didn’t laugh and I don’t really recommend it to anyone. Continue reading

Outdoor Movies

Outdoor Movies @ Waterside House Hotel

The folks over at the Waterside House Hotel recently ran the first of their outdoor movies series.  I tagged along to their screening of Grease to see what it was all about. The setting I have to say on the terrace is simply marvellous.  You are pretty much just feet away from the sand and the presence of the sea certainly does not go unnoticed. Continue reading
