Wonder Woman

Movie Review: Wonder Woman

Gal Gadot is hitting the big screen as Wonder Woman on June 1st.  For many she was the highlight (brief as it was) of Batman Vs Superman. With her own movie in excess of two hours, it will be interesting to see exactly how fans and critics react.  Its directed by Patti Jenkins whose last big screen feature was Monster. One would wonder about the reason for the 15 year movie directing gap. Continue reading

Old Street Malahide

Review: Old Street Malahide

Out with the new and in with the old. The latest addition to the vibrant dining scene in the bustling town of Malahide is Old Street.  A modern neighbourhood restaurant housed in what was once an aging cottage. Despite being only open a matter of weeks it has the tongues, both local and further afield wagging.  Continue reading

Urchin Dublin

Urchin at Cliff Townhouse

Urchin at the Cliff Townhouse is like a white and pastel coloured Summer hangout. Serving seafood and cocktails to a backdrop of cool tunes.  I had missed the opening night but the lovely PR team behind it sent me a voucher to try out some cocktails and small plates as a guestContinue reading

F.X. Buckley Steakhouse and Bars

Review: FX Buckley Steakhouse

Sometimes you just need steak. I have a friend who has steak every Friday night. It could be Monday morning and he would be talking about his pending Friday night steak with a glass of wine.  Steak and wine are like the Cagney and Lacey of food and FX Buckley has them both. Continue reading

Wexford Half Marathon

Wexford Half Marathon 2017

The last time I took part in a half marathon was April 2016 in Madrid.  A year is a long time to be resting on your laurels in running terms.  It was a combination of factors which kept me idle.  Some were of my own doing and some were due to injury.

Time however has a habit of slipping by so quickly.   Continue reading

5Rock Skerries

I will be living in Skerries ten years this Summer.  Throughout that time I have seen new restaurants opening and old favourites closing their doors.  Skerries is a stunning seaside town with a vibrant harbour.  Along that harbour is the welcome addition of 5Rock, a Mexican inspired smoke house grill. Continue reading

The Restaurant

(FLASHBACK) The Restaurant -The Night I Was (Drunk) On The TV

Since The Restaurant TV show is back on screens Thursday March 23rd, sure I thought I would re-post this little piece about my experience last year.

Back in August 2015, myself and the lovely Caitriona from Wholesome Ireland had the pleasure of filming an episode of Aldi The Restaurant. It was an absolute funfest from start to finish.  Naturally we had to keep quiet on who our celebrity chef was, but of course everyone now knows it was Pippa O’Connor. Continue reading

Fallon & Byrne Eggs Benedict & Brisket Brunch

There are so many good things to say about Fallon and Byrne, I’m sure anyone who has visited will wholeheartedly agree with me. There’s the outrageously gorgeous food hall where I want to buy everything and of course the superb wine cellar which is every wine lovers dream. Continue reading
